Your Guide For Stainless Steel Tanks
Midwest Tank Co. manufactures stainless steel tanks made of 304/304L or 316/316L stainless. Any style of tank that we produce in carbon steel can be made of stainless. Any tank that you see on our website can be produced in stainless steel. We manufacture stainless steel tanks primarily for industrial purposes where special polishing is not required. Our finish on the exterior of tanks is primarily a mill finish. If a better appearance is required, we can glass bead blast the tank to provide a uniform finish that is appealing to the eye. We do not produce stainless tanks for the food and beverage industry nor do we manufacture for the pharmaceutical industry as these tanks require intensive polishing.
Material Options
Stainless steel tanks are fabricated using 304/304L or 316/316L stainless steel. These alloys are selected for corrosion resistance, durability, and compatibility with a wide range of industrial environments. The choice between these grades depends on exposure conditions, required longevity, and the characteristics of the stored media. Midwest Tank fabricates stainless steel versions of any carbon steel tank design, including vertical vessels, flash tanks, rectangular tanks, and non pressure configurations.
Applications
Stainless steel tanks support industrial processes that require dependable storage of liquids, condensate, cooling water, or process media. These tanks are used in facilities where corrosion resistance contributes to predictable service life and where material stability is important for long term operation.
Advantages
Stainless steel tanks provide consistent performance in demanding environments. Their resistance to corrosion and environmental exposure supports long term service, and their structural stability makes them suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. Stainless steel maintains its appearance over time, especially when optional finishing methods are applied. These characteristics make stainless tanks a dependable choice for facilities that require durable, low maintenance storage solutions.
Common Use Cases
- Cooling water storage
- Condensate collection
- Process liquid handling
- Industrial filtration support
- General utility storage in corrosive environments
- Replacement of carbon steel tanks where longer service life is desired
Finishing Options
Exterior surfaces are typically supplied with a mill finish suitable for industrial environments. When a more uniform appearance is required, glass bead blasting is available or an exterior paint is an option.
